Trust, growth and the people in between: Bianca's journey at BDO Romania

Bianca Martoiu bianca m.
Senior Auditor, Audit & Assurance
BDO Romania

Bianca joined BDO drawn by the opportunity to learn and gain exposure to clients across different industries. What she found along the way, and what has kept her here, turned out to be something much broader: professional development, genuine autonomy, and the relationships that have quietly become one of the most meaningful parts of her work.

Freedom to take ownership

For Bianca, one of the defining features of her experience at BDO has been the trust she has been given to work independently and make decisions.

I value having the trust and freedom to make decisions, take ownership of my work and contribute to the success of my team. At the same time, working with clients from different industries keeps me curious and constantly learning, as every engagement brings a different perspective and new challenges.

Over time, that autonomy has shaped not only how she approaches her work, but also how she leads and supports those around her.

Initiative that creates space for others

Bianca's approach to taking initiative goes beyond her own work. It extends to the environment she tries to build for the people she works with.

This has encouraged me to be proactive, think critically and look for ways to improve how we work, rather than simply following the standard approach. It has also helped me become more confident in my decisions and develop my own approach to leading and supporting a team. For me, taking initiative also means creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions and taking responsibility themselves. I believe that when people are given trust and space to grow, the whole team benefits.

Being someone people can rely on

For Bianca, belonging isn't something that comes from the workplace itself. It comes from the relationships built within it

I value being someone my colleagues can rely on, whether they need guidance, a different perspective or simply someone willing to listen. I believe that trust, respect and openness make a real difference, especially when working under pressure.”

One of the most rewarding parts of her experience has been watching colleagues grow in confidence and develop professionally, knowing she played a part in that journey.

Growth that goes beyond the technical

At BDO, Bianca's development has come from a combination of hands-on experience, increasing responsibility and the opportunity to pursue professional qualifications such as ACCA and the ASPAAS path.

Working with clients from different industries has been particularly valuable to me, as it has allowed me to broaden my knowledge, understand different business environments and continuously adapt to new challenges. I enjoy the fact that there is always something new to learn.

Taking on more responsibility and coordinating teams has also developed skills beyond technical expertise, particularly in communication, decision-making and leadership. For Bianca, professional growth is not only about what she learns herself, but also about how she can use that experience to help others grow.
