When ambition meets the right environment: Monica's journey at BDO Romania

Monica sees the relationship between a professional and their workplace as something organic. For her, BDO isn't just an employer - it's the environment that makes growth possible.

BDO is a great fit for ambitious people with a desire for continuous growth. My advice is to see this collaboration as a win-win situation: the individual is the plant with the desire to grow, and BDO provides the soil and light necessary for that growth.

Thinking beyond the checklist

In Monica's day-to-day work, innovation isn't a top-down directive, it starts from the ground up, from noticing what isn't working at the standard the team aims for.

Thinking beyond' usually starts from identifying a specific need or from something that isn't working at the standard we aim for. We analyze it, discuss it as a team, structure it into processes, implement it, test it, and improve it periodically.

What keeps her team moving forward is adaptability, treating challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities.

We don't see challenges as obstacles, but rather as opportunities for improvement. We adapt quickly and respond with fresh ideas rather than becoming stagnant.

Building a team that knows its own value

For Monica, the foundation of a strong team isn't skills alone, it's honesty and genuine connection.

The most important thing in a team is to be open and honest with one another. When each of us understands our strengths and areas for improvement, we can work on them and naturally raise the overall level of the team.

She believes that getting to know your teammates goes deeper than professional courtesy, it's about authentic relationships where everyone understands their own value, as well as the value of the others around them. A harmonious work environment, in her view, is what ultimately enables better results in the services the team delivers.

What motivates her now

Monica finds motivation not in the big milestones, but in the everyday complexity of her work. She also credits BDO with giving her something less tangible but just as important: confidence.

What motivates me constantly are the day-to-day challenges. The satisfaction I feel after solving complex situations gives me confidence that I'm doing my work well, and motivates me even further. I enjoy seeing how things take shape and evolve. I believe BDO has offered me both confidence and courage in my abilities, allowing me to grow professionally and personally. The trust I've been given has sparked a strong desire to show my full potential and demonstrate what I am truly capable of achieving.
