Law 296/2023 changes | TaxFlash 94

We mention that Law 296/2023 regarding some fiscal-budgetary measures to ensure Romania's long-term financial sustainability has been amended by GEO 98/2023 which makes changes regarding the cash ceilings, in the sense that more measures initially imposed are eliminated. However, there are some provisions that remain applicable, among which the most important are:

 

1. The cash amounts in the cash register cannot exceed, at the end of each day, the ceiling of 50,000 lei. Cash amounts that exceed the ceiling are deposited into the bank accounts of these persons within two working days. As an exception, it is allowed to exceed this ceiling only with the amounts related to the payment of salaries and other personnel rights, as well as other operations with natural persons, for a period of 3 working days from the date provided for their payment;
2. The advance for settlement remain limited to 1,000 lei/day;
3. It is not possible to credit the company in cash by the administrators or associates; this provision remains applicable.
