By Emergency Ordinance no. 124/2024, published in the Official Gazette Part I no. 1069 of 24th October 2024, is postponed the application of the rules regarding the new way of calculating local taxes on buildings (relating to the taxation of buildings by referring to the market studies of the chambers of notaries) and land, previously introduced by Government Ordinance no. 16/2022, from 1st January 2025 to 1st January 2026.

Therefore, in 2025 the local property taxation system remains unchanged.

At the same time, a new specialized structure is established within the Ministry of Finance, responsible for the implementation of public policies in the field of property taxation, with the aim of evaluating and effectively taxing properties.
